Natural Park of Pilancones - Gran Canaria
The beautiful natural park of Pilancones is in the south region of the Island of Gran Canaria. It is a very beautiful park not only for its geological proprieties but also for its outstanding landscapes. High plains along with deep gorges carved into the rock are the protagonists of the sceneries that are breathtaking.

The entrance to the park is free and is from the village of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, it brings you directly to the main tourist destination of Maspalomas. A stop is recommended since it distinguishes the reserves and the other areas of considerable interest as the Rural Park of Nublo (it borders to the north), the protected area of Fataga (it borders with the East area) and the pine forest of Inagua.

The park of Pilancones has many pre-Hispanic ruins dated back millions of years ago, making it one of the oldest areas of the Island. Among the ruins you’ll admire the necropolis Arteara, the Canalizos of Chira, the Lomo de la Palma and Pedro Afenso, Gitagana, and many others.

The 6000 hectares of the reserve hosts a large botanical and animal heritage. The Queen of the flora is the pine forest of Pilancones where you can admire the great spotted woodpecker and blue chaffinch.

The Park is all this and much more so the best thing to do is to get your camera and start to discover it.

Natural Park of Tamadaba - Gran Canaria
The natural park of Tamadaba in Gran Canaria is the demonstration of the immense natural heritage received from nature. Tamadaba, high 1,000 meters above the sea level and wide 7500 hectares, sees together different ecosystems of flora and fauna. Undisputed Queen of the reserve is the pine forests of Tirma and Tamadaba, perfectly preserved and fascinating.

Everything here is beautiful. Everywhere you look you’ll admire the wonders of nature: embankments, precipitous cliffs (often used by fearless climbers, a special permission must be given) gullies etc. The peak of Guayedra, the cliffs of Aden Greens and the corroded rocks have assumed different shapes during the years; shapes that recall strange and particular forms (such as the Finger of God).

Since the park is a protected reserve it hosts different species of flora and fauna as well as special animals like the blue chaffinch and the great spotted woodpecker. The vegetation is characterized by charming palm forests, cistus and taibabas (endemic species), and also the famous Cedar of the Canarias and the particular Daisy of the Teide.
